KPL: Muhoroni Youth down Slum Boys, extend unbeaten record

Muhoroni Youth fairly tale run in the Kenyan Premier League continued with a hard fought 1-0 win over visiting Mathare United on Saturday 12 at Muhoroni Stadium.

The victory stretched their unbeaten run to 12 matches – making it two wins on the trot.

Oscar Oketch early second half trike was the difference for the Paul Nkata coached side as they fought tooth and nail to keep the three points.

Muhoroni suffered an early scare when their dependable forward George Mandela limped off with a knock on his knee never to return, but they soldiered on with Paul Odhiambo constantly threatening Mathare’s rear guard.

Mathare United attempts of salvaging a poont fell flat even after introducing Ismael Dunga and Eric Johanna as Muhoroni Youth continued to attack while defending solidly.

The win takes the Awasi side to fourth on the log, three points off third placed Sofapaka.
