Migné: Harambee Stars will need to be brave against Tanzania

Kenya’s Harambee Stars will this afternoon take to the field against Tanzania in a return leg of the CHAN 2020 Qualifiers at Kasrani.

The first leg ended in a barren draw and will require another stellar performance from Kenya in front of their own fans.

The two teams met at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, with the Harambee Stars coming out victorious in a 5 goal thriller.

Harambee Stars coach Sébastian Migné is optimistic Kenya will come through.

“I am happy about the improvement and we are ready to give the best. To be ready to die on the field. To be able to repeat this kind of performance, to perform well.

“What is difficult, we have already beaten them during the Afcon, it was more important for the two countries, so they want to have a revenge but my guys show they are not ready to allow the other team to qualify so it’s always difficult to repeat the good performance and be able to beat the same team twice,” Migné said.

The frenchman further adds that Tanzania at the moment have a slightly better advantage in terms of personnel than Kenya but his team will give their best.

“For them it’s almost the same team. Samatta is not there, Thomas Ulimwengu also but it’s almost the same team. For us it’s totally different. We lost a lot of locals before these two games but we will see. We will try to be brave and do that. And I hope the fans will be with us because we need it. We have some young players and experience so the fans can also be important.”

The team kept a clean sheet in the first leg played in Dar es Salaam, and there is now all to play for in the second leg scheduled for Sunday at the MISC Kasarani with kickoff set for 4 PM local time.
