The Premier Soccer League (PSL) prosecutor confirmed on Friday that it has written to a host of Absa Premiership head coaches to explain comments attributed to them in the media on match officials.
“The PSL Prosecutor has written to Cape Town City coach, Benni McCarthy, Lamontville Golden Arrows coach, Steve Komphela and Highlands Park coach Owen Da Gama to explain comments attributed to them in the media on match officials, a statement said.
“The prosecutor has given the three coaches five days to confirm or deny making these statements. McCarthy, Komphela and Da Gama allegedly made inappropriate statements concerning match officials after matches in which their teams participated,” the statement ended.
Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane had already been charged by the league after hitting out at “referee mistakes” after a host of errors made by match officials.
