Kaizer Chiefs star forward Khama Billiat has reportedly suffered more trauma after being robbed at gunpoint on Thursday evening.
According to several reports in Zimbabwe, Billiat was held up by gunmen who took his personal possessions at a mall in Johannesburg last night.
The 29-year-old was “stripped of his neck chains” before being “body searched” as thugs claimed his cash “before proceeding to ransack his expensive Range Rover Lumia whereupon he voluntarily opened the glove compartment with even more cash, jewellery and some deodorants,” read a report from iHarare, who broke the story on Friday.
Contacted for comment, Chiefs media spokesperson Vina Maphosa could not confirm nor deny the incident and vowed to provide a definitive update once the club recieves correspondence from Billiat, who understandably would have lost his mobile phone.
Amakhosi are set to assemble in Naturena for their final training session on Friday, ahead of Saturday’s crunch Nedbank Cup Last 16 encounter with Highlands Park.
Billiat suffered a similar trauma in February 2017, when he was robbed by six men armed with AK47s at an Engen garage in Kyalami, while still on the books of Mamelodi Sundowns.
