Trans Nzoia Falcons edged Kisumu All Starlets 2-1 in the opening match of the Kenya Women’s Premier League (KWPL) Zone B on Sunday afternoon at the Moi Stadium.
After a closely fought first half, Tumaini Waliaula scored the only goal of the match in the 48th minute to hand Trans Nzoia a perfect start.
Elsewhere, SEP Oyugis notched a 2-1 win in their top flight debut against Eldoret Falcons in another zone B tie at the Nyahera Primary School.
On Saturday, Nakuru West Queens launched their league campaign with in an assuring 3-1 victory when they tackled Oserian Ladies at the Afraha Stadium.
The results mean Nakuru West Queens top zone B on goal difference with Trans Nzoia Falcons and SEP Oyugis tied.
