New Chipolopolo coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic is yet to receive his first salary after close to two months into his appointment as the Ministry of Sports is yet to finalize the Serbian’s contract.

The Office of the Attorney General has already given approval to the contract and told the Ministry of Sport to finalize the deal but to no avail.

Micho was unveiled by the FAZ on February 3rd, 2020 and has already taken charge of the Chipolopolo with his maiden assignment in the dug-out being a 1-0 victory over Malawi in a friendly match played in Lusaka.

However, the 50-year old has yet to put pen to paper to a two-year contract offered owing to Government’s lack of acquiscence.

Attorney General Likando revealed to The Mast the contract offered to Micho is favourable to Zambian standards and has since given the Ministry of Sports approval to finalize the deal.

Meanwhile, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sports Joe Kapembwa when pressed for an update on the national team gaffer’s contract said the Ministry is due to give an update at a proper time.

“I think we will give you an update at an appropriate time. I will give you at an appropriate,” Kapembwa is qouted by the Mast.

Micho has previously reported to have grown frustrated at the hesistations in having his contract finalized while Minister of Sports Hon. Emmanuel Mulenga has stated his ignorance on the matter.

Chipolopolo were scheduled to face Botswana in crucial back-to-back Group H 2021 AFCON qualifiers before CAF postponed the fixtures due to the dreaded Corona virus (COVID-19) outbreak.
