The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has extended the suspension of all football activities in Egypt for another 15 more days which will be until the end of April.
The EFA said in a statement on Wednesday that the suspension applies to all leagues in the country in line with government measures put in place to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.
“In accordance with the decisions by the Egyptian prime minister extending a curfew in the country for another two weeks, the EFA has decided to extend the suspension of football activities for another 15 days, from 15 April to 30 April,” reads a statement by the EFA.
“The decision applies to all grades of local competitions and all ages,” the statement added.
The EFA have further ordered that all youth centers and training grounds should remain closed and teams must encourage their players to train from home.
Egyptian clubs have already halted their trainings and asked their players to train at home until further notice.
Football activities were initially suspended on 15 March over the coronavirus outbreak and were set to end on March 30.
Egypt has recorded 1560 cases of the Covid-19 pandemic with 305 recovered and 103 deaths forcing the Egyptian government extended the current partial curfew on Wednesday, from 8 pm to 6 am for other two weeks.
