Superport sponsored “Let’s Play” program today (Monday) visited over one thousand joyous kids from over 15 different primary schools across Muhoroni area at Success Primary School,Muhoroni Town. The program is a partnership between Kenyan Premier League, involving the sixteen clubs and sponsor Supersport, and it is aimed at promoting physical fitness among kids through sports.
The excited kids were hosted by Muhoroni Youth Club, whose players took them through various interactive physical activities from morning till late in the afternoon.
Youth’s assistant coach James “ Odijo” Omondi who was among the instructors, urged the kids to not only work hard in school but also explore their talents in sports.
“You are the future Muhoroni Youth, so you must study hard but also exploit your talents in football and in other sports.” Omondi urged the animated kids.
Kids favorite Muhoroni Youth keeper Farouk Shikalo was a busy man throughout the event as he took them through a variety of physically involving activities in song and dance which they evidently enjoyed.
The program coordinator Fareed Limo was satisfied with the event, “We initiated the program last season and this season our emphasis was on physical fitness and as you can see the kids have been actively involved; some have made it while some have collapsed and were attended to by our first aid team – it indicates a need for physical activity among our kinds.” Fareed told Soka25east.com
Among the guests present were Muhoroni Youth Director Moses Adagala and the Club’s Chief Executive Officer James Orundu.
The Muhoroni event was this season’s seventh and the next stop will be Kisumu tomorrow and it will be hosted by Western Stima FC at Padndpieri Primary School.
