Nigerian international Desiree Oparanozie has signed a two year deal with French club Dijon that will see her extend her stay at the French Women’s top division (D1F).
Her six year association with Guingamp ended after the season was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. She netted 45 goals for the club in 106 appearances. In the hampered 2019/20 campaign, she had six goals in twelve matches.
Désiré Oparanozie speaking to the clubs’ website after she inked the deal said:
“I am happy to start a new adventure after six years in Guingamp. I am delighted to be able to discover something else. I really like this club and the coach who’s followed me for a long time and convinced me to join. I am very honored to sign at DFCO. “
Dijon’s head coach Yannick Chandioux believes that Oparanozie’s arrival will help raise the clubs level up:
“Each season, she has proven that she can score. She is used to D1, and she’s the type of player who will help the group to grow.”
“Désiré has a fairly important athletic profile. She is powerful, knows almost everything and will be invaluable in the conservation of the ball.”
