FT: Simba 0- Yanga 2
National Stadium,Dar Es Salaam.
Yanga produced a virtuoso performance upsetting bitter arch rivals Simba 0-2 in a highly entertaining game played on Saturday afternoon at the National Stadium in Dar Es Salaam.
The game begun like a house on fire with both sides firing from all cylinders in the tense atmosphere as both sought to get the much needed bragging rights.
In the stroke of half time Amisi Tambe dribbled his way past three defenders before scoring a beautiful goal that beat keeper Peter Manyika who was left sprawled to the ground as Yanga took the deserved lead going into the break.
Both teams came from the break rejuvenated as the midfield battle ranged but it was Yanga that had the upper hand mounting relentless pressure that paid off handsomely in the 80th minute when substitute Maalim Busungu put matters beyond Simba with a thumping header from a Mbuyu Twite throw in for the scores to stand at 0-2 in favour of Yanga who were firmly in control of the game.
Wild celebrations from Yanga fans were extended to the streets as they sung and danced celebrating a deserved win over their bitter rivals and earning the bragging rights as the kings of the Dar Es Salaam derby.
