FKF Premier League defending champions Gor Mahia host Zambian club NAPSA Stars in a CAF Confederation Cup tie on Sunday afternoon at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.
After being bundled out in the Premier CAF Champions League competition, Gor Mahia is eyeing a spot in the ‘money league’ which is the group stages.
Head coach Carlos Manuel Vaz Pinto is upbeat, as he reiterated the need for Gor to reach the competition’s group stage.
“There’s no pressure on our side. This is because we are focused on our preparations – the training and every other aspect of our team,” Vaz Pinto said.
“It is important to win not only for Gor Mahia but for the football of Kenya. We play to represent the country and not only Gor Mahia.”
His opposite number head coach Mohamed Fathi believes Gor Mahia will be under pressure to perform when they meet on Sunday.
“Gor Mahia are under pressure starting the first leg at home and we need to take advantage of the situation to get the result we need.” Fathi said.
