FIFA president Gianni Infantino has congratulated Zesco United for being crowned league champions for the MTN Super League.
In a letter to FAZ president Andrew Kamanga, the FIFA boss said the ninth title by Zesco was a result of hard work.
“Please allow me to congratulate Zesco United FC for being crowned 2021 champions of Zambia. The title is, no doubt, the result of hard work, passion and commitment, and everyone at the club can be proud of this important achievement,” Infantino said.
“I would be grateful if you could please extend my congratulations to everybody involved, whom I encourage to continue working with team spirit, passion and determination.”
He added: “On behalf of the international football community, I finally take this opportunity to thank you and your Association for your contribution to the development and prosperity of football in Zambia.”
Zesco United were on Sunday afternoon crowned champions after beating Buildcon 7-2 at Arthur Davies Stadium to lift their ninth title.
