Debutants Biashara United of Tanzania defetaed Libyan visitors Al Ahli Tripoli 2-0 in Dar Es Salaam in the 2nd Preliminary Round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Both teams were coming into the tie with high expectations of picking up a favourable result in the first leg played at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium.
But It was the home team that took the initiative at the end of 90 minutes.
Judika Deogratious opened the scoring for the hosts five minutes from halftime, as Biashara took a deserved lead to the break.
In the second half, the Libyans searched for an equalizer, but were stunned a minute after the hour mark when Green Atupele doubled the hosts lead.
Al-Ahli Tripoli will try to make amend in the return leg next weekend in Benghazi.
