Cameroon coach Rigobert Song is buoyant ahead of his teams clash against Switzerland who are ranked 28 places above them.
Song also rubbished off sentiments of Switzerland being ranked ahead of them saying they will prove that ranking is nothing compared to the actual game on the pitch.
“We respect our opponents but our mission is to win the game tomorrow .They might be ranked ahead of us but that is just on paper the match tomorrow will determine who is superior and if at all ranking is to be considered who knew Saudi Arabia would have beaten Argentina ? Song posed the question.
“We are focussed and the entire squad is fit and ready for action we have been in the World cup stage before and we know how to go about it and getting the elusive win” he added
On the captaincy issue Song declined to reveal who will wear the armband saying “You will know who will be the captain tomorrow i am the coach and i know how to make my decision according to what is good for the team”he concluded
Cameroon midfielder Samuel Oum Gwet shared his sentiments saying he was optimistic his side would beat Switzerland.
“We have a very good side and the morale in camp is very good.We know it will not be an easy game but we are well prepared. As players we are determined to get a win against our opponents to make our fans happy as this is the most important competition “he said
