Tunisia coach Jalel Kadri has said the loss to Australia will not dampen their spirit as they prepare for the big game against France.
Coming from a draw against fancied Denmark and then losing to Australia, Jalel attributed it to bad lack saying they played a good game but failed to convert.
“We played a very good game against Australia but failed to convert the numerous chances and when our opponents got one opportunity they utilised it ”
“It’s hurting to think how we played so well against Denmark then losing to Australia puts us in a precarious position as we face a big team like France ” Jalel said in the post match press conference.
However Jalel took inspiration from Saudi Arabia win over Argentina when asked if he thought their chances of qualifying for the knockout stage was over .
“I like this tournament because even big teams line Argentina were shocked we have to take lessons from that and say anything is possible in football and we might even cause a surprise against France if we can play as a team and score goals” he added.
Tunisia have never gone to the knockout stage in the past five World Cup editions they have played in and the 2022 edition will be their sixth to miss the knockout stage.
