FIFA allocates Morocco 5000 additional tickets in Spain game

FIFA is allocating 5,000 additional tickets for Moroccan fans wishing to attend the Spain vs Morocco round of 16 match.

The official Twitter account for Morocco’s national team announced the news today, stressing that FIFA’s decision came in response to Moroccan Football Federation’s efforts to secure more tickets for the Atlas Lions fans.

“After great efforts made by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, the international federation of football has allocated 5,000 tickets for the match that will bring together the national team and its Spanish counterpart, to Moroccan fans,” the national team page announced.

The tickets will be available to buy on the FIFA ticketing system.

The announcement comes following a growing frustration from Moroccan fans, who denounced the selling out of tickets for the Morocco vs Spain match on December 6.

Many internet users took to Twitter and Facebook to express concerns about the situation.

“Days ahead of the match, Moroccans are unable to find tickets for the Morocco vs Spain match. Some fans say that the black market price has reached $250 [per ticket] while others claim that Asian fans got tickets instead of the two competing countries,” one Twitter user said.

Others blamed FIFA, accusing it of “manipulation”  saying the lack of tickets sold to Moroccans is a move to stop “Moroccan fans” from attending the country’s first round of 16 game.

“FIFA manipulates the Morocco match against spain  and does not want the Moroccan fans to attend,” he Said.
