Nigeria have qualified to Quarterfinals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after beating Cameroon 2-0 at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny in Abidjan.
Ademola Lookman’s brace was all that the Super Eagles needed to send the Indomitable Lions packing.
The match which was billed as the battle of the giants saw Cameroon dominate possession over the 90 minutes but the 5 times African Champions failed to register a shot on target.
Lookman struck for the Super Eagles in the 36th minute to give José Peseiro’s men an advantage heading into the break with Victor Osimhen setting him up to finish.
The Atalanta Man did not stop there for the day. Lookman completed his brace with a finish past Ondoa to seal the win in the 90th minute.
A disappointing end to the campaign for Rigobert Song who go home while Nigeria advance to meet Angola in the Quarterfinal.
