The Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has named a25 man squad to start preparations for the final round of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers against Sudan to be played over two legs on 17th and 24th October, 2015.
The Cranes will start non-residential training on Tuesday 6th October in the morning (10 am) at Paradise Fitness City , Acacia Mall for one hour then head to the Legends ground (former Kampala rugby grounds).
Uganda will host the first leg at Nakivubo stadium.
There have been some additions and omissions on the team that saw off Tanzania in the previous round of qualifiers. Ayub Kizza ( Express), Bernard Muwanga( Bright Stars), Ivan Ntege, Joseph Ocaya , Hassan Wasswa Dazo , Hakim Ssenkumba, and Timothy Awanyi (KCCA), Isaac Muleme and Katongole Henry( SC Villa Jogoo plus Sadolin Paints FC’s skipper Katumba Peter are the new faces on the team.
However there are no places for on for the on form duo of Farouk Kawooya and Nicholas Kagaba of SC Victoria University, URA’s Richard Kassaga and another on form Mike Ndera.
Team captain Hassan Wasswa Biruma is also out of the team because he is yet to play any game since the closure of last season.
The winner over two legs will qualify for the finals to be hosted by Rwanda in 2016.
