Defenders Brian Mandela of Maritzburg United,South Africa and David “Calabar” Owino of Zesco United,Zambia have linked up with Harambee Stars squad preparing for the return leg of FIFA World Cup qualifier against Mauritius on Sunday 11.
The dependable duo missed the first leg of this encounter away to Mauritius on Wednesday 7, where Kenya won emphatically 5-2. They last played in the national colors in the 2-1 loss to visiting Zambia in the AFCON 2017 qualifier.
Availability of the two is likely to bring stiff competition in the central defense role where David “Cheche” Ochieng and Harun Shakava were preferred in the last line up.
Head Coach Bobby Williamson oversaw the team’s last training session on Saturday morning at tomorrow’s match venue, Moi Sports Centre Kasarani, with 22 players in attendance.
Meanwhile “Club M” of Mauritius are expected to have a feel of the match venue this evening, the Alain Happe charges failed to train yesterday for undisclosed reason – they were booked at Nyayo National Stadium yesterday but they didn’t show instead choosing a gym session.
