Walia Ibex overturned a shocking one nil loss on Thursday 8 to thrash visiting São Tomé and Príncipe 3-0 in the preliminaries of World Cup 2018 played on Sunday 11.

The result means Ethiopia sail through on 3-1 aggregate and will face Congo Brazzaville in the next face of the qualifier.

Head Coach Yohannes Saleh who faced heavy criticism for the first leg loss did his home work well and in the first minute before a fully packed crow, Dawit Fikadu grabbed the opener before midfield Dynamo Panom Gatosh doubled the lead in the 48th minute.

Ramkel Lock sealed the sweet victory in the 74th with the third to the relief of fans and the technical bench.

The technical bench however still have their work cut out as they need to work on the attack which wasted a thousand and one scoring chances ahead of the Congo game.
