Burundi is through to round 2 of FIFA World Cup qualifier on a 3-0 aggregate after beating Seychelles 2-0 at home on Tuesday 13.
The East Africans carried a 1-0 advantage into the match and only needed a draw or any win to sail to the next stage but they never rested firing twice to toast the Islanders out of the road to Russia 2018.
Mamelodi Sundowns forward Fiston Abdul Razak continued with his fine form in national colors, scoring twice in the 71st minute from the spot before grabbing a brace seven minutes later.
Heavy rains in the capital Bujumbura saw the second half of the match delayed.
Burundi will now face DR Congo in the next phase of the qualifier early November.
In another match Central Africa Republic failed to progress after a 2-2 draw away to Madagascar. CAR needed to score more than four goals to overturn three goals deficit but the Islanders proved too stubborn as they fought from behind to ensure a draw and a ticket to the next round.
