Muhuroni Youth Coach – We are going to maintain the status quo

Kenyan premier league surprise package Muhuroni Youth are not planning to lose a match any soon in the second stanza of the current season as they plot for another kill against Ushuru FC over the weekend.

Muhuroni played to a 1-1 draw against FKF-PL strugglers Shabana FC in a build up match on Thursday 14 morning at Muhuroni Stadium in preparation for the weekend duel, and speaking after the match, visibility confident assistant coach James “Odijo” Omondi made clear their intention.

“We are unbeaten so far and we going to maintain the status quo when we face Ushuru on Sunday,” Odijo said.

Nigerian import Ownody Chibuezi scored for Shabana in the first half before former Gor Mahia striker Zachary Towfeque equalized for the hosts in the second half.

“Our mission was to give our players match fitness because as you know they have been inactive during the international break.” He added.

The cane cutters played two sets of players with mainly fringe players being used in the first half and the regulars playing the remainder of the match.

Muhuroni Youth has been revelation this season and are unbeaten since the start of the second leg in July, they occupy fourth spot on the log after 11 wins in 27 games, a point below second placed Sofapaka. And going by their current splendid form which saw them beat giants Tusker FC 3-2 in their last league match, the Paul Nkata coached side could as well move higher on the log.
