AFC Leopards were knocked out of the ongoing Orange Caf Confederation cup despite rallying back to hold visitors Supersport united 2-2 on Sunday Afternoon at the Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi.
Supersport United came to the game with a two goal advantage but AFC Leopards proved to be no push overs as they fired from all cylinders trying to get the elusive goal but the both sides went to the break goalless.
However Leoapards came back from the break recharged and like a house on fire set upon the visitors and the effort paid off handsomley in the 50th minute after a long range shot from defender James Situma beat impressive keeper Williams Ronwens to give Ingwe the lead.
Matsatsantsa, however, fought back well and equalised shortly after throughThuso Phala, who was put through on goal by Bennett Chenene, allowing the nippy winger to finish from close-range.
AFC Leopards subsititute Jacob keli hit the woodwork in the 70th minute as SuperSport survived a scare, before taking the lead 12 minutes later, as Doutie Sameegh received a cross from Thuso Phala, who turned supplier, before slicing home the accurate delivery to snatch the advantage.
Leopards spoiled the visitors’ party in the dying seconds, drawing level in the final moments from an Allan Wanga header that beat keeper Ronwens from close range , ensuring a share of the spoils in the Nairobi for the comeback was not enough for Ingwe who were knocked out by a 2-4 aggregate as the visitors Supersport United proceeded to the next round.
