Vipers will stay at the summit of the Azam Uganda Premier League for at least more two days. This was after a solitary strike by Erisa Sekisambu earned the home side a 1-0 victory over Bright Stars on Tuesday.
It was the striker’s fourth straight goal of the season after brilliant play by Saddam Juma and William Wadri.
Saddam picked the ball in the centre circle before he released Wadri on the right, who ran at goal before crossing a ground ball that Sekisambu finished off on 27 minutes.
However, the bigger news of the day was the victories by two interim coaches Kefa Kisala and Ibrahim Kirya of URA and SC Villa Jogoo respectively.
Kisala, who took over from former head Moses Basena a few days ago, led URA football club to return to winning ways, clinching a 2-1 away victory at Kakindu Stadium over Jinja Municipal Council Hippos in his first game with full authority.
Sports Club Villa also won away from home, registering a hard fought 1-0 victory at Bugembe stadium over Sadolin Paints Football Club with Ibrahim Kirya who also took over from sacked Spaniard Antonio Flores.
In the battle of forces, Police F.C and Maroons played to a 2 all draw at Kavumba Recreational Grounds.
Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) F.C slightly sliped off the top of the table thanks to a one all draw with Lweza FC at Maroons stadium, Luzira.
At Mutesa II Stadium, Ceaser Okhuti scored his 6th goal of the season but Dan Ssewava’s late strike made sure Express and Soana play to a 1-1 draw.
At the Bombo military stadium, BUL football club registered a 1-0 away over the home club, Simba.
Blaise Nkolo scored a second minute brushed effort to pile more misery on the army side’s new coach Morley Byekwaso.
Simba remains the only side without a win this season. They have only managed three draws from the eight games they have played so far.
