Campaigns for Cecafa Presidency hots up as aspirants seek replace to Tenga

The elections for the Cecafa Presidency on November 20th 2015, is proving to be a highly contested battle with campaigns on high gear for the man who will replace Leodegar Tenga who will be vacating the seat voluntarily after two terms that lasted 8 years.

Ethiopia FA President Junedin Basha ,Uganda’s former FA President Lawrence Mulindwa,Rwanda FA President Vincent Nzamwita and Sudan FA’s Khamal have thrown their hats in the ring ready for the ding dong battle.

The elections for the Presidency of Cecafa are planned to take place during congress alongside this year’s Cecafa Challenge Cup to be hosted by Ethiopia .

Tenga is vacating office with some advice to the man that will take over from him‘I urge our region to pay more serious attention to football at this stage. There was a beautiful but fierce contest in football at these Games and clearly the passion at this level is tremendous,’ Tenga said

The aspirants will have to convince the delegates at the congress to be able to get the much needed votes by selling their vision for the body that has been the most consistent in Africa.

Its imperative to note that it will not be business as usual for the winner since the big question has been of no East African team managing to qualify for the World prestigious football showpiece the World Cup something that has been a worrying trend a case in study that all aspirants will have to give a formula to achieve in their respective campaigns.
