Ajax Cape Town coach Rodger De Sa cannot stop salivating with the prospects of signing Kenyan’s new striking sensation Michael Ogada Olunga to join the Urban Warriors in January 2017 transfer window.
Soka25east.com has reliably learnt that De Sa has been making frantic calls to try and work out a deal with Olunga that will also see him continue with his studies in South Africa as he seeks to boalster his squad.
Michael Olunga has been in a rich vein of form scoring 18 goals in the Kenyan premier league to finish as runner up, he was the top scorer at the Cecafa Kagame Cup where he scored five goals he has been key for Kenya’s national team Harambee Stars scoring crucial goals and his brace helped Gor Mahia to reach the 2015 KPL Top 8 final.
De Sa joined the Urban Warriors in February 2014, after a successful stint with Orlando Pirates and immediately showed his prowess as a coach by placing his trust in the young players at the club.
In just two and a half seasons at the helm, De Sa already promoted five players from the club’s prestigious youth academy. Jody February, Ziyaad Eksteen, Olwethu Nguye, Yagan Sasman and Justin Jacobus were all promoted into Roger De Sa’s PSL squad, over the last two seasons.
De Sa who has been following Olunga’s career keenly hopes to convince his handlers to accept a lucrative deal that will also give the player a chance to continue with his studies as he seeks to give him the role of the lead marksman.
