Football Kenya Federation has confirmed that Kakamega Homeboyz and Rangers are the automatic promotion earners following the
conclusion of the 2015 FKF Premier League season.
In a letter to Kenyan Premier League
CEO, Jack Oguda, FKF Secretary General,
Michael Esakwa said a Joint Executive
Committee of FKF and KPL will further decide on the final composition of the top-flight league for
the 2016 season.
“This to notify you that the following clubs have been promoted to the Kenyan Premier League after emerging the top two for the 2015 season,”The letter written to Oguda read in part.
“Please be advised that other decisions regarding the composition of the league will be duly decided by the FKF/KPL Joint Executive Committee as provided by our MOU.”
Zoo Kericho were the hot favourites to earn promotion but a recent decision by a section of FKF PL clubs to abscond the league gave Homeboyz and Rangers the advantage after Kericho-based, Zoo, forfeited at least three matches as Homeboyz and Rangers dissented
the decision of their compatriots.
The National Executive Committee of FKF will give the final verdict on the fate of Zoo and others that absconded the league, including Ligi Ndogo and Nairobi Stima, among others.
