FT Uganda 3-0, (Agg 4-0).
Uganda booked a spot into the last twenty with an emphatic 3-0 thumping of visiting Togo in the second round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers second leg tie at Namboole Stadium,Kampala.
The 4-0 aggregate win is a sweet revenge for Uganda Cranes who were last year beaten by Togo 2-0 on home and away basis to badly weaken their AFCON 2015 qualification dream.
Skipper Godfrey Massa commenced the party for Uganda five minutes into the match with a superb right foot strike to animate the home crowd. Farouk Miya doubled the lead in the 39th minute before grabbing his brace at the stroke of half for a 3-0 comfortable half time break.
Coach Milutin Sredojovic didn’t slow down in the second half as his charges pressed even harder for the fourth goal. Tonny Mawejje should have put his name on the score sheet in the 76th minute but his header went just wide.
Uganda now joins Zambia and Gabon who have reached the group stage of the qualifiers.
