Ethiopia Walia Ibex coach Yohannes Sahle was lost for words after his team came from behind to knock out Tanzania 4-3 on post match penalties after a 1-1 full time draw.
Sahle who is participating in his first ever Cecafa Senior Challenge cup as coach described the players as phenomenal calling them the “come back kings “after a repeated perfomance that also saw them score a late goal against Tanzania in their group stage game only to come back and knock them out of the tournament romping into the semi final and giving his critics a hard time after many hard written him off.
Sahle was also full of praise of the die hard Ethiopia Walia Ibex fans who thronged the National Stadium in Addis Ababa describing them as the motivating factor
“I am so happy its been a great perfomance by the players who remained relentless despite falling to an early goal.We have a young team that did not have experience as neither has played any Cecafa senior challenge but they were up to the task and kept on fighting coming back to win a very important game just like they did on Sunday against the same Tanzanian team”Sahle told soka25east.com
“I also want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the fans despite being a goal down they continued giving the team the much needed support and i can say they have contributed so much to our great perfomance in each and every game i take off my hat in honour of their commitment to the team “Sahle added
Ethiopia Walia Ibex will clash with Uganda Cranes in a mouth watering game between the only two teams based in the Cecafa region that will be participating in the 2016 CHAN to be hosted by Rwanda.
