After what has been an exciting and
tough career at Gor Mahia as a player and a assistant coach, legend Bobby Ogolla calls it time to end his 14 years service to the club he holds close to his heart.
In a more rather emotional speech he delivered to the team in the dressing room after yesterday’s match where Nakumatt FC knocked out Gor Mahia in GoTV Shield Cup, the old figure surprised players by what was not seen coming.
After playing an integral part in the team in a year where Gor Mahia
achieved the best, Bobby appreciated the players for the time they have worked together and wished them well in future.
“I sincerely appreciate these young
players for the time we’ve worked
together. The respect and smooth
relationship that existed between us will leave a permanent mark in my heart forever.
They considered me as a father and l handled them like my sons with the respect they deserve.
“l must admit l worked with the most exciting and respectful players and for sure, l will miss them. They are sad to see me leaving and that really pains but life will have to go on. I can only wish the the best in future,” said Bobby.
Ogolla shared his appreciation to all Gor Mahia fans and urged them to always maintain the same spirit
because they play an important role
in the club.
“No fan base is amazing like Gor fan base and they are one of the main wheels that rolls Gor Mahia as a club.
I played for the club for 10 years and coached the team for four years and honestly, fans are important element in this club. The support they offered me as a player and as an assistant coach can’t be quantified only God can reward them.
They should continue with the same spirit to see the club where it should be,” he added.
He further appreciated the club’s
administration for offering him an
opportunity to work with the club.
“I truly thank club’s management
another offering me another chance
to work for a club a truly love since .”
The 57 years old retires from matters football to relax and pursue other personal interests.
