Mombasa side Bandari FC made light work of FKF PL outfit Nakumatt FC thrashing them 4-2 to lift maiden Kenya Cup (GOTV Shield).
The victory earns Bandari the right to represent Kenya in the CAF Confederations Cup next year where St. Eloi Lupopo of Congo awaits.
Nakumatt came into the ultimate clash buoyed by their big win over KPL champions Gor Mahia in the semis where they eliminated the Giants in post match penalties but the Dockers proved a different ball game for them.
Anthony Kimani converted from the spot for the first goal in the 5th minute after David King’atua was brought down inside the penalty area by Donald Mosoti to give the Coach Twahir Muhiddin side an early lead.
Ugandan midfielder Musa Mudde made it 2-0 minutes later from a beautiful bicycle kick from George Abege’s pass which left Nakumatt keeper Wycliffe Kasaya stunned to the joy of the vocal Bandari traveling fans.
Abege put his name on the score sheet in the 19th minute for the third goal before substitute Masoud Juma completed the rout in the 43rd minute with the fourth goal.
Former AFC Leopards skipper Martin Imbalambala who came on as a substitute pulled one back for Nakumatt in the 83rd minute before Tyron Ownino reduced the deficit further in the 90th for a final 4-2 scoreline.
