Ugandan international Khalid Aucho will not sign for Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen FC this August, however the club will continue to monitor his progress for possible future move.
The former Gor Mahia midfielder has been trying out with the Dons for a couple of weeks now and even played a warm-up against Arbroath FC last month.
His agent George Bwana spoke exclusivly to Soka25east.com.
“He completed trials yesterday (Tuesday). We were waiting to get the official report today but we have been informed that the Coach (Derek McInnes) had to travel for a UEFA Europa League qualifier game hence we cannot get a conclusive technical report on how he faired. But I just received a message from Scotland that he will be coming home and that Aberdeen will continue monitoring him.I guess they didn’t have enough time to access him, given their involvement with Europa League.” Bwana a renowned player intermediary said.
He further dispelled rumors that the deal fell through because the asking compensation fee was sky high saying they had not reached that stage.
“We didn’t get to the stage of discussing money as he had to complete trials , we get results then begin to talk fees.”
Aucho, de-registered in Kenya cannot turn out for K’Ogalo despite still having a running contract with the reigning champions; the player is rumored to have attracted interest from South African side Bidvest Wits where he could head next.
Ugandans will be hoping he settles fast ahead of their do or die clash against Comoros in their last AFCON 2017 qualifier on September 3 in Kampala.
