Mamelodi Sundowns takes on Cape Town City at Loftus Versfeld this evening in what promises to be an enthralled encounter.
Sundowns will be playing their fourth game in nine days at a very familiar hunting ground.
The defending champions were held to a 1-1 draw in their last outing against Highlands Park which saw Amakhosi go six points clear after their 3-2 comeback win against Polokwane City on Saturday.
The Brazilians will be out to close the gap on Chiefs to three points but Cape Town City won’t be an easy assignment.
Football in the BSE has been a challenge and Coach Pitso Mosimane has acknowledged that. Two Absa Premiership games have been played and out of six points, Masandawana has collected two.
The Citizens collected maximum points in their opening game in the “Bubble” against Chippa United.
Clashes against the Cape Town side are always a spectacle. In the previous seven meetings, a total of sixteen goals have been scored between the sides and nine of those were scored by Masandawana. The Brazilians have registered four wins out of the seven clashes.
The match takes place at a familiar hunting ground for Mamelodi Sundowns, even though the game is an away game Loftus has been a good hunting ground and a home to to the Brazilians.
The match will kickoff at 18:00 CAT (19:00 EAT).
