Senegal international midfielder Adama Mbengue has signed a four-year contract with French Ligue 1 side Unione Stade Malherbe.
The club on Wednesday announced on its official website that it has signed the youthful midfielder, who had attracted intrest from Turkish clubs Besiktas and Antalyaspor.
“He is a good player, physically and technically, with a great deal of activity. He has a bright future.We’ve been following him for a long time. Adama is one of those good opportunities we have now in our team,” the club said in a brief post.
A picture shared by one of the clubs official shows a jovial Mbengue dressed in the club’s red and blue coloured track jersey, smiling broadly at the team’s training ground with a thumbs up sign.
The player, born in Rufisque started his football at Mediour Shool before moving to United States where he joined Orlando City Academy.
Adama got his first international call up in 2015 and was part of the Senegal Olympic team in Brazil.
He has been in the last three Teranga Lions encounters since March and the last one being an 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier early this month.
