Ethiopia Walia Ibex coach Mariano Barreto has dropped four key players from his team that will face Mali over the weekend in an Afcon 2015 qualifiers to be played at the National Stadium in Addis Ababa.
Among the culprits dropped include long serving midfilders and defender Adane Girma and Alula Girma who played a crucial role in both the qualifiers against Algeria and Malawi.
According to coach Barreto he took the bold decision after the players failed to meet his expectations in training as he was also paving way for Europe based players who arrived on Tuesday at the team training camp in Addis Ababa.
“I know many people were suprised but as a coach there are decisions one has to take according to the players form but that does not mean they will not be considered for other assignments and this is by working hard to regain back their places”Mariano told Soka25east.com
Other players dropped included Anteneh Tesfaye & Yohannes Bezabeh (GK) left the team today
