The 11th edition of Addis Ababa City FC Cup will commence Saturday, October 22, the organizers have confirmed.
The 8-team preseason tournament for league teams based within the Ethiopian capital, was previously postponed by the government due to security reasons.
Jimma Aba Bunna enters the party as guest team, same as Adama City.The two are not allowed to carry the trophy home even if they win it, according to the tournament’s rules.
The Coffee growers (Jimma Aba Bunna), slot in place of Ugandan champions KCCA, who bolted out at the last minute, citing Ugandan premier league refusal to reschedule some of their local matches, to allow them honor the invite.
Defense and Jimma will open the competition on Saturday, in an early kick-off before St. George and Ethio-Electric close the day in the second clash of the day.
On Sunday, two more matches will be played; Ethiopia Nigid Bank vs Addis-Ababa City, and Dedebit vs Adama City.
