Kevin “Ade” Omondi is working his way back to Kenyan giants Gor Mahia, Soka25east can reveal.

Ade, 27, has for the past three days been training with the 2017 Kenyan Premier League champions under the watchful eyes of coach Dylan Kerr.

“He has been putting in a lot of work in training for the past three days. The decision to have him back rests with Kerr who is monitoring him,” a source within the club said.

Nicknamed “Password” for his cunning ability to break the toughest of defenses with his magical skills, Omondi has been playing for the National Super League side Kenya Police where he seems to have rediscovered his mojo.

Ade joined Gor from FISA Academy 2009 – forming a core part of a generation of players, including the current skipper Musa Mohammed, credited for awakening the former African heavyweights.

Their efforts culminated in the 2013 Kenyan Premier League title which came after a 17-year-long and painful wait.

Omondi would then crossover to South Africa with Moroka Swallows in the ABSA Premiership in June 2014 but never kicked a ball due to work permit complications.

South African authorities handed him a five-year ban for overstaying his visa by 100 days.

Never to be pinned down, the former Kenyan international returned to Kenya – joining KPL outfit Sofapaka but he was never the same player the “green army” adored and sung praises to as he battled off the field issues and his form dipped.

Joining Police gave him a chance to get back in shape away from the media eyes, a decision that appears to have worked.

His imminent second coming has already started to illicit varied reactions from fans with a majority on Facebook in approval.

One prominent fan by the name Izc Izc commented on Facebook,

“Class is permanent.”

On the same platform Tico Obiang Tico commented,

“Troubled genius, with lots of love, I miss you.”

While another by the name Nyaribo Steve Isinta said, “Flawed genius” with John Nyakwar Odande questioning, “Is there a genius who isn’t?”

Other prominent former members of K’Ogalo who recently returned and impressed include combative midfielder Collins “Gattusso” Okoth and George “Blackberry” Odhiambo.

The latter is still with the club while the former has since left again after winning KPL title and other trophies in 2015.
