Guinea Bissau Football Federation Vice President Adu Nogueira resigned from his duties on Friday afternoon via a letter to the federation’s executive committee.

The former proffesional player in Portugal Nougueira accuses the federation’s executive committee for lacking transparency.

Nogueira in his letter, writes that it has been a pleasure to work with the federation but he cannot allow corruption thrive under his watch.

“I always value ethics and thus I am not prepared to be confused with those who use football to enrich themselves,” he said in a letter seen bysoka25east.

Nogueira also said that the current leaders made him believe that they had plans to advance the federation “when, in fact, they had only personal interests”.

“I resign to the position for which I was elected for not having strictly nothing to identify me with the other members of the management”, reads another part of the letter addressed to the executive committee

Nogueira stressed that he is resigning to denounce the corruption in the soccer federation of Guinea-Bissau.

The resignation of the vice-president comes at a time when the current leaders of the federation are being investigated by court and government for suspicions of mismanagement of funds from FIFA and the Confederation of African Football.

The suspects include the secretary-general Virginia Cruz who is being probed by the Public Ministry and Manuel Lopes the President of the Federation whose case will be heard on Thursday in a Bissau court.
