AFC Leopards produced a virtuoso perfomance to upset Tanzanian side Mbeya City 2-1 in a pulsating match played at the Khartoum stadium on Monday evening in the second group B match in the ongoing Cecafa Nile Basin cup.
Leopards who seem to have found their rhythm back under new Dutch coach Henrick Pieter de Jongh started the game like a house on fire as they played an attacking brand of football that paid off handsomely when Musa Mudde drew first blood in the 16th minute capitalising from a defensive lapse to fire home the first goal as mercurial Paul Were extended the lead with another fine finish as Ingwe went to the break leading 2-0.
Mbeya City fought relentlessly and got a goal back but it was too late as Leopards cruised to the quarter finals to set up mouth watering matches.
In the first game AFC Leopards beat Rwandese side Eticelles 2-0 .
