Burkina Faso 0-0 E.Guinea
Burkina Faso kept alive their chance of staying in the tournament with a barren draw against Equatorial Guinea in Bata and although the hosts themselves only drew their opening game against DRC, they seemed content with a point against the Stallions.
Star midfielder Jonathan Pitroipa looked unusually out of sorts, and his substitution nine minutes from time came as no surprise. Aristide Bance, included in the starting team after coming on as a replacement in their opener, was largely isolated upfront.
It was brothers Allan and Bertrand Traore who stood out for Paul Put’s men, both forcing fine saves from Felipe Ovono in the Equatorial Guinea goal .
Gabon face DR Congo later tonight in a game whose results will shape the direction of this group
