Moroccan international midfielder Mbarki Boussaffa has expressed his disappointment at their 1:0 defeat at the hands of the DR Congo insisting that his side were unlucky despite exhibiting the better performance of the match.
“We were better than them, of course! We were better than them, of course! We had opportunities, but we could talk about 2 hours!”
“Ithink we started well, we were good physically, we had chances … Even when we lost 1-0, we had opportunities to come back. But when you get a goal it’s hard to come back … It’s difficult, because we did not deserve to lose today.”
The Al Jazira attacking midfielder who was also named the encounter’s man of the match is however optimistic that the Herve Renard side will still make it past the group despite the loss to DRC in their opening encounter.
“In Africa Cup, if you do not win the first match it is difficult. We are still there, we will fight on the second match, the third match, and we will see inshallah what will happen.
