President Roch Marc Christian Kabore Tuesday night congratulated the Stallions following their qualification for the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations which is currently played in Gabon.
The president’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement by the Director of Communication in the Office of President, Mr Rémis Fulgance Dandjinou.
Kabore, according to the statement, joined millions of football loving fans in the country in celebrating the very-much improved national team for meeting the nation’s expectations during the entertaining and action-soaked last group encounter aganist Guinea-Bissau and hopes for a victory aganist Tunisia next Saturday.
“We invite all Burkinabè to pray and join forces so that the Stallions can have a victory next Saturday to further enhance the image of Burkina Faso internationally,” concluded President Kabore.
Burkina Faso had an outstanding 2-1 victory in their last group match aganist Guinea-Bissau on Sunday.
