The Pharaohs’ return to AFCON
On 2nd March 2015, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) appointed Héctor Cúper as the new manager of the national football team.
Cùper helped the Pharaohs return to AFCON–2017 edition in Gabon after their absence at three tourneys–2012 co-hosted by Gabon alongside Equatorial Guinea, 2013 hosted by South Africa and 2015 in Equatorial Guinea.
