Guinea Bissau national team on Wednesday afternoon flew out of Libreville after bowing out of the 2017 African Cup of Nations following a 2-0 last group match defeat to Burkina Faso on Sunday.

Baciro Cande’s boys ended their two-week journey after registering a famous 1-1 draw aganist hosts Gabon before falling to Cameroon 2-1 few days before the last match aganist the Stallions.

The failure to progress to quarter-final drew several criticisms from the fans after some of the best players failed to get starting roles in the line-ups.

“We are going back home with an aim no just to qualify for the next Africa Cup of Nations, but also all CAF competitions so that our football will be developed in all categories,” said Guinea Bissau coach Cande in post match interview.

They are expected to land in Guinea Bissau’s commercial city about 4pm local time to a rousing reception at the Osvaldo Vieira International Airport.
