DR Congo Minister for Sports Willy Bakonga will lead a delegation of 100 officials to Gabon to clear Les Leopards unpaid bonuses.
Bakonga has reiterated “there’s no problem of bonuses”, and that they will be paid well in time before their opening group “C” fixture against Morocco in Oyem Monday 16th.
“Today is Friday; we still have Saturday (today) and Sunday. The game will be played on Monday in the afternoon. Tomorrow I will lead a delegation of 100 officials to Gabon. We have all the time possible.
“When we arrive, we will talk with them (players), we will be together. So there is no problem of bonuses since the bonuses are already there. We’ll give them to them,” Bakanga was quoted on Radiookapi.net.
Yesterday, the Leopards who arrived in Oyem Thursday 12th from Mbankomo, Cameroon, where there were camping since the eve of the New Year, refused to train demanding their allowances.
They said in a recorded audio, “It’s been years and years, it’s always the same thing; we prepare well to play our matches but in the end there is always the problem of bonuses so there will be no training today.”
