After getting off African Cup of Nations campaign in a bad start with a 1-0 loss to DR Congo, Morocco need a win aganist Togo inorder to keep their chances of reaching the knockout stage of the competition in a Group C match that will be played on Friday evening at Stade d’Oyem

Herve Renards men have been the favourites heading to the tournament but their sign of hard times at the tournament was sounded before a ball had even been kicked as one of their star players, Sofiane Boufal, was sent home from the competition with a knee injury.

Their pre-season was not at any way rossy as they sucubbed to Finland and this becomes first time they have suffered back to back defeats since 2014.Now bottom of the group they need nothing less than impressive result aganist Togo.

Morocco have only not been a good side as they have won four of their last ten in all competitions.

Mbark Boussoufa remains the key figure to be depended on at the Morroco squad.Still young at 32-year-old he is bubbling with experience even though he has played outside Morroco in recent years.

Confident always when with the ball, Boussoufa has the ability to open up a game with one moment of individual brilliance, with his dribbles and passing skills a joy to behold if he is on top of his game.

Another star hungry for success tonight is Karim El Ahmadi.I an interview hour ago with a section of Morocoan Press he promised to a game full of sparks as they search for a win.

“I want to achieve something with Morocco. That is my goal and what the entire team wants,” El Ahmadi said.

“We are all hungry for success. It is about time.I think we are among the favourites, in particular when you look at our individual quality. But a lot of things play a role at the Africa Cup of Nations. It is going to be very tough.

“You have to be strong as a team. We have a lot of individual talent, but you face bad pitches and physically strong opponents at the AFCON. We have to adapt.”

Whereas Morocco disspointed on match day one, Togo despite being almost completely devoid of star quality, did manage to hold a lacklustre Ivory Coast at bay for the entire 90 minutes though as they secured a surprising goalless draw to pick up their first point of the campaign.

Captained by veteran striker Emmanuel Adebayor,Togo have been in a pole position to progress if the quality of the display in previous match is anything to go with.

Currently they are joint second in the group, so a win here would see them rise clear of either Ivory Coast or Congo DR.

For their pre-match preparations, Sparrow Hawks were not though. Their final match before the tournament started was a friendly in November, with them losing 2-1 to none other than Morocco. This ended their seven match unbeaten streak in all competitions.

At that time Morocco looked were in good shape and the terrorized them at a time when Sparrow Hawks were unbeaten in ten matches going into that game, but now they have lost back to back games and failed to score in either of them they will be a bit down in the dumps.

Sparrow Hawks have this time to look at Mathieu Dossevi at the front. While Emmanuel Adebayor remains Togo’s main man in attack, the young lad has proved that there is much more at the Togo side.

With speed and accuracy the Standard Liege ace impressed in the scoreless draw with Ivory Coast though he did not manage to register his name on the score sheets.

In the game aganist Morocco Dossevi will be hoping to put in another performance to help his side in the quench of a knock out stage appearance.
