Uganda’s Democratic Party (DP) has pledged to award the Uganda Cranes half a million for every goal they score at the continental showpiece ,AFCON in Gabon.
The Party’s spokesperson Kenneth Paul Kakande announced this during a press conference earlier today.
“It is indisputable that our team has capacity to put up a very good show and accordingly, we pledge Ushs.500.000 for each and every goal that will be scored by the team in this tournament.”
He however castigated the government for failing to acquire the rights to relay live the AFCON through the national broadcasters UBC after the country qualified for the showpiece after a 39 year absence.
“It however is disturbing and a glaring sign of government incompetence that the time when the country has returned to the AFCON tournament is when the National Broadcaster UBC has failed to relay the tournament to Ugandans. It’s a big shame!”
