Zimbabwe’s Warriors face Carthage Eagles of Tunisia in the Africa Cup of Nations Group B match that holds monumental significance to both teams in bid to secure membership among the last eight standing nations at the finals.

Kick off time is :21:00 CAT,22:00 EAT

On paper the North Africans are the team to beat in the group and their win over Algeria in the match day two will give them added impetus for a result against the Warriors in Libreville.

The Warriors lost to an inspired Senegal in second group match and are still nursing emotional wounds which may diflate their morale when they face the Carthage Eagles.

Zimbabwe face elimination should they fail to secure a win while a victory for Tunisia side will secure them a place in the last eight. The Warriors will be hoping that Algeria fail to beat Senegal in a game that will be much tough for Desert Foxes who are also staring at elimination.

But going to the history Warriors have a tradition of winning their last group matches of the Nation Cup finals. They beat Algeria 2-1 in Tunisia 2004 and winning by the same margin aganist Ghana and Egypt two years later.

Tunisia know that they can still qualify if they pick  only one point against Zimbabwe, considering that they currently have two points more than them, but also from Algeria, which they have already mastered, so in case of a tie, Tunisia would in the end finish as the second in the group also hoping Algeria fall to Senegal.

Their players such as Youssef Msakni and Naim Sliti are set to pose danger to Zimbabwe whilst Pasuwa will be hoping to see Khama Billiat and Nyasha Mushekwi in fine form.

However, the Henryk Kasperczak’s coached side is struggling with injuries with first choice goalkeeper Aymen Mathlouthi doubtful of making it to starting line -up. His fellow player Wahbi Khazri is also a fitness concern having been forced to retire in the last training session.
