South Africa had more ball possession through over the entire 90 minutes even though Namibia moved the ball a bit quicker.
Baxter’s men stepped it up in the second period and their efforts were duly rewarded when Zungu rose above the Namibia defenders to head home from a set piece in the 68th minute.
South Africa will have to get a result from their last group match against Morocco on Monday 1st July.
Namibia have a mathematical chance of making the last 16 but will have to beat Ivory Coast with a convincing scoreline.
