Morocco came into the game as bookmakers favourite after their impressive display against Senegal but Cameroon dominated the first 15 minutes of the game looking more creative and willing to conquer. The complexion of the game quickly changed in the 22nd minute when Moroccan forward Tawfik Bentayeb beat Ekoi Manfred for the first time in the tournament and his second goal of the tournament.
At half Time the Moroccans where cruising comfortably towards the semi finals but the Baby Lions looked different upon resumption with Mvoue Steve and co causing all sorts of problems for the Moroccan defense.
In the 72nd Minute, flying winger Ismael Seidou who had been introduced as a substiture benefited from an exquisite pass from fellow forward Mvoue Steve to get his first goal of the tournament and drag Cameroon back into to the game. both sides keep on testing each other until the 92nd minute when Ismael again took advantage of a monumental error in the Moroccan back-line to seal the win for the baby Lions.
At full time it was 2-1 for Coach Thomas Libih’s Cameroon. The result means the baby Lions have qualified for the semi final of the tournament and also booked a place for the Under 17 world Cup to take place later this year in Brazil with a game to go.
